Who is Thompson's Comfort Connection?

We are the original Thompson family of heating and air conditioning professionals who have been serving the Salt Lake area for over 65 years and now 4 generations of Thompsons!

William J. (Bill Sr.) Thompson started Thompson and Sons Heating & Air Conditioning Company in 1946 following World War II. All of his 4 sons worked in the business over the years, but his oldest son, Gene is the one who stayed in the business throughout his career. Gene Thompson bought Thompson and Sons from his dad in 1982 when Bill Sr.
retired. Gene and his son, Bill, ran the business until 1997 when they made the decision to sell Thompson and Sons to Service Experts®, one of the largest nationwide heating and air conditioning businesses in the country. Bill and Gene stayed on with the company and managed it for the corporate owners until 2005. The corporate world was never a good fit for Bill or Gene, so Gene retired and his son Bill decided at that point to go back into business on his own and Comfort Connection LLC, dba Thompson's Comfort Connection was born.

So, in a nutshell, we are the former owners of Thompson and Sons, but are no longer affiliated with them. We are still located in the same building at 7682 S Maple Street (60 West) in Midvale, and we have been in this location since 1972.

Now, Bill's son Mike Thompson has joined the business and we are now in our 4^th generation of Thompson heating and air conditioning professionals. Mike also has 2 young sons and who knows.....hopefully the tradition will continue.
